Presentation

La Clusaz is a mountain resort in the French Alps, in the department of Haute-Savoie. It is an ideal destination for an active outdoor holiday in summer. Here are three activities not to be missed in La Clusaz during the summer period.

Hiking in the mountains

La Clusaz offers many hiking trails in a breathtaking natural setting. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced hiker, there are routes to suit all levels. You can enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding peaks and observe the local flora and fauna. There are many easily accessible walks starting from the village. For example, you can take the Col des Aravis trail (about a 2 hour walk) which offers a 360° view of the surrounding mountains. For more experienced hikers, the GR5 will take you to the top of the Pointe Percée at 2327 m in 5 hours of walking. La Clusaz also offers original activities for nature lovers, such as night-time moonlight hikes and chamois watching in their natural habitat. These unforgettable experiences will make you discover the mountain in a different light.

Visit the village

The village of La Clusaz, with its typical wooden chalets, is well worth a visit. You can wander through the picturesque streets, visit the 17th century church of Saint-Thibaut and stop in one of the many local craft shops. The village of La Clusaz has retained its original character with beautiful Savoyard farmhouses made of wood and stone. It is pleasant to walk through the pedestrian streets and observe the traditional architecture of the buildings. The church of Saint-Thibaut, with its pointed bell tower, is a fine example of Savoyard religious architecture. There are many arts and crafts shops in the village: wood carving, pottery, cheese making... enough to bring back an authentic souvenir from your stay. The La Clusaz market, which is held every Wednesday morning, is an opportunity to discover local products: reblochon, abondance, honey, home-made jams... A real treat for gourmets!

Swimming at the Confins Lake

The Confins lake, located only 4 km from La Clusaz, is the ideal place to cool off in summer. The lake is fed by melting snow and offers clear turquoise water where it is pleasant to swim or do water sports such as paddle or pedal boats. The Confins lake is a great place to relax in summer. Its large sandy beach is ideal for swimming and sunbathing. You can rent paddles, kayaks or pedalos to explore the lake and watch the birds nesting on its shores. A small restaurant on site will allow you to prolong the day at the water's edge. It's a peaceful place to stroll around.

Between hiking, cultural visits and relaxing by the lake, La Clusaz offers many activities for a successful holiday in the heart of nature. It is a perfect destination for a tonic and rejuvenating summer.
La Clusaz also offers original activities for nature lovers such as moonlit night hikes or chamois watching in their natural habitat. These unforgettable experiences will make you discover the mountain in a different light.
